Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Faith Financial different from other debt management organizations?
Debt management organizations are primarily concerned with
creating a plan that will alleviate or ease their client’s mounting debt. Our primary concern is to
assist willing clients to make a lifestyle choice (which may include a plan) to manage their money
in a way that aligns their financial decisions with God’s plan for managing the resources He places
within our responsibility.
Aren’t organizations like yours just a vehicle to sell me insurance or investment
products?
While there certainly are Christian financial planners, investment
firms and insurance companies selling products that may fit within a plan that will allow you to
best manage God’s resources; we are not one of them. Our goal is that our clients are equipped
with enough current information and accurate resources to be able to make quality decisions about
the purchase of such products. We also provide tools that will allow our clients to
appropriately evaluate the source from which they may choose to make a purchase. We are not
affiliated with any organizations, nor do we endorse any specific companies or
products. Affiliations or endorsements may compromise our ability to work on behalf of the
best interests of clients.
You keep referring to “God’s resources”. What is that about? I work hard for my
money, isn’t it mine?
At the end of a long week it certainly does feel good to get that
paycheck. It would seem we’ve earned it and therefore it belongs to us. This is a natural
feeling. However, in the Psalms David writes:
“The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all
who live in it. For he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.” (Psalm
24:1-2 NIV).
This phrase is found other places in the Bible, as well, and goes
as far back in the Bible as Genesis. Our ability to learn and develop our talents and skills
into something that will earn us a living has been directly placed in us by the hand of our Creator
(see Psalm 139). The job to which we drive to every day and pour out our energies is God’s
gift. That job allows us to receive the resources God has provided for our care and the care
of others. Your promotions are gifts. Your earnings on that bank account, CD, or select stock
are all gifts of provision to you. The division of provision may seem inequitable and yet,
once again things are not as they seem. Those that have been given much are invited to partner
with the King in bringing equity to a broken world by generously caring for those who have
less. This allows the giver to emulate God. God gives generously of Himself and His
expectation for us is that we would be so overfilled with gratitude we could not help ourselves
from pouring out the abundance to others.
Why should I listen to the advice of someone who can’t possibly understand what I am going
through? The last time I contacted someone for help I was met with a financially successful
person who pointed to all the things I should have done. How will Faith Financial Ministries
be any different?
Our coaches are all people who have experienced financial
struggles and can, therefore, completely understand the despair and frustration that can accompany
financial hardship. Our coaches have lived the reality of choosing to believe in the
sovereignty of a loving God who promises provision even in the midst of circumstances that appear
bleak. They are learning the ways of a generous God who provides abundantly what we need and have
been called by Him to teach others what He has taught them.
